The Law Office of Jeffrey Brownson was opened in 2014 with the goal of providing personalized top-tier criminal defense. Prior to opening the firm, Jeff practiced for six years at Nevin Benjamin McKay & Bartlett LLP, one of the most prominent criminal defense firms in the Northwest.

Jeff has extensive trial experience, and also completed the Trial Practice Institute at the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia in 2009. He is a member of the ACLU of Idaho Legal Committee, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (IACDL). He frequently speaks on various legal topics, including civil liberties. Jeff also represents indigent clients charged with federal offenses through the Criminal Justice Act.

After graduating from University of Idaho College of Law, Jeff served a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Michael McLaughlin of the Fourth Judicial District of Idaho where he worked on numerous criminal and civil cases. During law school, he was a legal intern with the Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho, Capital Habeas Unit, during which he assisted in habeas corpus proceedings at the federal level for Idaho inmates sentenced to death.

Jeff is admitted to practice in Idaho, the United States District Court for the District of Idaho, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
